Radio-Tech’s innovative UHF to VHF Booster System has been developed as a means to cost effectively and efficiently migrate an existing mobile AMR system to a fixed network without the need to re-visit or reconfigure any transmitters that have already been deployed. This flexibility allows utilities to adapt their system over time as more transmitters are installed, allowing them to first migrate densely populated areas to a fixed network followed by other areas as and when the need arises.

Operational

As the Booster unit is battery powered and IP68 rated, it allows for absolute installation flexibility. Once installed, the booster is programmed to wake up periodically, listen and re-broadcast all messages received from all UHF transmitters within range. These messages will be re-broadcast using Radio-Tech’s licensed 153MHz band or the 169MHz band up to 2km where they will be received and processed by the RT:Wi5 data concentrator. This upgrade path is the one of the most cost-effective means of migrating to a fixed network and will allow utilities to remotely obtain up to 4 meter readings per day.
