Radcom and Palmer Environmental jointly hosted two more new product seminars in two Glasgow football stadiums on 10 & 11 May 2005. The events were hosted by Mike Tennant and Steve Grainger from Palmer, and Michael Firth from Radcom.
Radcom's new "LoLog Vista" data logger (similar to the established LoLogLL) has been introduced with an integral LCD Display, which is permanently showing either pressure or flow on single channel loggers, or toggling between both inputs on dual channel versions, and can still achieve a 5 year battery life.
Radcom's MultiLog SMSLite logger based on the proven MultiLog engine offers a lower cost basic logger for simple 1 or 2 digital flow input applications.
Michael Firth also outlined the proposed interface between Radcom loggers and the BBL telemetry servers to offer fault tolerance and greater reliability using PSTN or GSM telemetry techniques. SMS is planned to be integrated but inherently cannot provide the same degree of fault tolerance for critical application sites.

After feedback from recent new customers "RadWin Lite" software has been released to make it easier for initial users of Radcom data loggers to get started.
"RadWin Lite" is based on the popular "RadWin" software (from v4.35 onwards) and uses the same data storage format, so that it is possible for "RadWin" or "RadWin Lite" users to use the same data base. Like the full "RadWin" software it is designed to run on Windows 32 bit operating systems including Windows XP, 2000, NT4 etc. "RadWin Lite" operates as a single software package and incorporates the necessary elements previously in "RadWin" as separate Setup, Download and View modules. At a later stage new users and migrate to use the full "RadWin" software to take advantage of the additional special features of the full software for network server applications and special function set facilities etc.

Radcom Technologies Ltd have made another breakthrough in battery powered telemetry. Not only can Radcom offer customers PSTN, SMS and GSM telemetry options, we can now provide data loggers that can send their data back to the office by initiating an Email directly from the remote data logger.
GPRS cellular communications has been available from the cellular network providers for some time, but now it is possible to use this communications technique for battery powered data logger telemetry. One of the main advantages of our E-mail telemetry is that no modem is required at the office PC. It simply requires an E-mail account to be available. This can either be in the form of Outlook running on the desktopPC, or a network address to an Exchange server. RadWin software can automatically read, then store the received data in the normal RadWin data base directory, and finally remove the logger's data E-mail from the "In box" without affecting any other E-mails in the account.
In the UK, cellular network charges are based on the number of Megabytes of data transmitted during the month. With current UK charging tariffs it is possible to set-up the logger to send its data to the office every hour at around the same price as an off-peak daily GSM data telemetry transmission. Nearly "Real Time" data can thus be made available, cost effectively, for those critical applications.

The popular "RadWin" software used on Laptop and desktop PC's has been carefully cut-down to work on Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) hand held computers.
"Pocket RadWin" installed onto a "Windows CE 2003" PDA platform, retains much of the functionality of the originating "RadWin" software application. Popular Radcom data loggers such as LoLog, LoLogLL and MultiLog can be set-up and their recorded data downloaded for subsequent transport back to the office PC. Additionally the PDA software can display up to 8 graphs simultaneously, which is a significant advantage compared with the other hand held computer interfaces such as Psion Workabout or Radcom's RadLink which are text only display devices for these applications.
