Remote PRV control is possible from battery powered controllers from Radcom
Radcom have specialised in designing battery powered data loggers, many thousands of which are in service across the world. A derivative of these proven data loggers was launched several year ago, introducing battery powered control equipment initially aimed at controlling water pressure in distribution pipe networks.

A small box can be connected to an existing pilot PRV valve to control the main Pressure Reducing Valve on the pipe network.
This single box contains both the control electronics and an integral data logger to save the cost and space of having both a controller and a separate data logger. |

Radcom offer two types of PRV controller, either Time based (to reduce the pipe pressure at low demand times, eg at night) or a flow modulated controller which can realise leakage savings throughout the day and night (by adjusting the pressure according to the demand, to prevent excessive pressure at any time of the day or night). |
