Permalog in China for the Olympics

Over 2000 permalogs have been installed in and around Taiemn Square and other areas of Beijing as the water company along with other utilities prepare for the Olympics. They will also be installed at Olympic sites. The use of the permalog system has enabled the local water authorities to dramatically reduce leakage, a strategy that is a part of many water companies activities to ensure adequate water supply. The drive-by feature permalog system enable water companies to dramtically reduce the time to investigate distribution systems and this has proved particularly suitable in Beijing. Many of their distribution pipes are large metallic systems prone to catastrophic problems if bursst occur. Permalog has enabled the engineers to pinpoint leaks quickly before they develop into major bursts
