It is important that your loggers and office PC continue to use the same time standard. In many countries the normal clocks are changed from Winter time to Summer time and back again later in the year. If implemented in a data logging system, you will find at one time of the year you have a 1 hour gap (which appears like missing data (duration 1 hour), and at the other time of the year, two sets of different data for one hour, where both sets have the same time.
Therefore Radcom always recommend the loggers and Office PC clocks to remain at one time standard throughout the entire year. In the UK we recommend adopting GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) all year round.
For controllers such as for PRV applications, we recommend the controller to be setup to change its time actuation automatically between Winter time and Summer Time, by entering the 1 hour required change in the software during setup. When selecting this Summer Time / Winter time PRV control time change option, the water pressure is controlled relative to local water consumers times, but the logger's clock is unchanged, and will continue to record the logged data relative to the standard Winter time (GMT in UK) throughout the year. |
