 | Save leakage by monitoring "Minimum Night Line Flow"
District Metering Area (DMA) loggers can be used to detect water leakage the morning after the leak occurs.
Radcom data loggers recording flow through DMA water meters, typically show a lower flow in the early hours of the morning, when most users have gone home and are asleep.
By monitoring the minimum flow during these low flow times, it is possible to detect when a new leakage has occurred . |
Note that the lowest nightly flow values on this graph are above "zero flow", therefore either there is a process drawing water from the pipe network, or there is a potential leakage, which has been running for several days.
If there is a significant step increase in the "Minimum night line flow" from one day onwards, then a new leak is most likely to be the cause. |
