The above Air Time contracts can be purchased (for use in the UK) to avoid having any separate monthly billing contract. Radcom absorb the cost of all daily calls and the usual monthly telephone line rental charges, to enable a "one off" up-front capital purchase for the data logger with a 5 year battery life and 5 year telemetry communications.

Radcom Data Loggers are fitted with "Dual Band" cellular modems for 900MHz and 1800MHz operation in Europe, or 1900MHz in USA

In the UK all 4 cellular network providers can be used:     O2,  Vodafone,  Orange or  T Mobile

When radcom do not supply the Air Time SIM card, please note that the SIM cards should be supplied to Radcom before final assembly and test, and should be configured as follows:-

Important Notes:

1)

SMS

SIM card should be supplied to Radcom activated with
    - a Voice telephone number

2)

GSM

SIM card should be supplied to Radcom activated "DATA ENABLED" with both :
    - a Voice telephone number and
    - a GSM data telephone neumber

3)
GPRS
SIM card should be supplied to Radcom activated "GPRS ENABLED" with
    - a Voice telephone number

When SIM cards are supplied from outside the UK, the SIM cards should be configured for "INTERNATIONAL ROAMING" to allow Radcom to fully test the units prior to despatch.

For combination applications, it is possible to supply SIM cards from your chosen cellular network supplier for any combination or all three of the above services (SMS, GSM and GPRS).

At present Radcom do not make use of 3G cellular network services, because operational costs are relatively expensive and do not offer any advantages over the above three cellular communication options.
